B0 Fringe Field Measurement

Critical influences of magnetic fields can be a K.O. criterion for the selection of an installation site for a MRI system.Tram lines, subway lines, parked or moving cars or trucks, as well as elevators have a high influence on magnetic environmental conditions in accordance to the distance between MRI site and the disturbance, so that a possible site cannot be released for the installation. Current leading cables can also produce high magnetic fringe fields, which have a high influence on MRI Systems. Inmed medizintechnik measures and documents the existing magnetic fields at a possible MRI site in 3 planes over a period of at least 24 hours. With the acquired data a MRI site can be evaluated. By installing an adequate magnetic shielding or an active shield compensator, magnetic influences can be reduced, so that a site, where initial B0 measurements resulted in an inapplicable site, a MRI system can be installed without any difficulty.

Site Survey

Inmed evaluates a possible MRI site in respect to further criterion. These are transportation to final site, situation and positioning of Quench pipe, positioning of air conditioning systems and chillers, as well as necessary noise attenuation arrangements. Eventually required static measures will be initiated by inmed medizintechnik – any static arrangements must be calculated in responsibility by a static engineer.
For CT installations, the adjacent rooms must be examined in respect to x-ray protection arrangements.

Project Drawings

Using most modern CAD programs, project drawings, site layouts, cabling ducts, location and dimensions of Quench pipe, situation of the fringe field and the layout of the RF-shielding are compiled and forwarded to architects and construction engineers.

Construction Meetings

In order to assure a smooth system installation, inmed medizintechnik attends to all construction meetings between architects, static engineers, customers and related companies.
